The First Tee of Central New Mexico offers group lessons three sessions a year (Spring, Summer and Fall) at Santa Fe Country Club & The UNM Championship Course. All children new to The First Tee, regardless of golf experience, begin in the first of a series of certification levels, PLAYer I. The PLAYer level introduces the fundamentals of both the Life Skills curriculum and golf skills. Upon successful completion of the PLAYer level requirements, students progress to the next level, Par.
Upon successful completion of the PLAYer level, students progress to the Par, Birdie, Eagle and then Ace levels, each building upon the foundation of life and golf skills acquired in earlier levels.
During the school year, First Tee coaches visit Santa Fe & Albuquerque elementary and middle schools as part of the In-School Program. During one week units in physical education classes, the instructors introduce the game of golf and The First Tee’s Nine Core Values.
